I know, hipness isn’t probably a word, but around here we invent what we need. My middle daughter even has a dictionary of words we all make up – the Xionary.
Anyway, this is something I just decided I wanted to do. Never mind the piles of things already in process. So I seized the moment and just began cutting 6″ strips, then the strips into 60 degree (does anyone know where that key – the degree key – is on the computer?!?) triangles. Then I began laying them out into strips, sewing each strip horizontally across, then attaching them to each other horizontally.
I just love the random look of it. I am partial to quilts that are more like color field, rather than focal point paintings.
I would love to add one more row, as this quilt top is 2/3 as long as it is wide, but I’ve run out of the variety of batik fabrics I used. Makes me think about dyeing…
