I thought I’d review the year…
We started with the blessing that I would gain a new son-in-law. Plenty of time to plan – the wedding date was a year away.
The blessing of getting to see most of the family on Easter – all dressed up pretty, too!
The blessing of a “why wait?” wedding. It was moved to May.
Right after the wedding, I was given the blessing of Mono. Yes, the blessing.
Even though I spent most of the summer and fall on the couch, it was a time of rest and contemplation. For one thing, that’s when I got the idea for expanding this blog to be about real life. And I invited my friends to follow and know what I was up to.
It was humbling and hard to accept all the good sometimes. I had to be served by others; all I could do was receive.
I realized that my life is still important even if I can not produce anything at all.
And that is the best blessing of all.
This world needs the beauty we create and the vision we share. But there are seasons when we need rest. And it’s ok. My life still matters, and so does yours. Some blessings come disguised. Have you been blessed lately?
