a SINGER 66!
Yes, I decided I LOVED the look and quality of a time gone by, as well as the fact that it will sew through anything, including leather!
I am picking up a cabinet today so I can actually start using it.
As for how I’ve been spending my non-sewing days, I’ve been into a few things : )
Below is a work in progress where I started with white fabric and doodled on it with Elmer’s White Glue. Yes, the cheap stuff you can purchase by the gallon. You can see the dried glue – it’s the shiny part showing in the picture. Then I painted stripes with Dye na Flo from Jacquard and this is the drying stage.I
Then after letting it sit for about 24 hours, I soaked it to get the glue out and washed it. Here is the final piece of fabric.
I have to learn that colors look darker when wet…
You can see where the glue resisted the dye and worked well though! This piece will likely become a market bag, so it will have purpose in life, just not in a quilt : )
