As the Thanksgiving holiday approached, I started thinking about Christmas. So I started this table runner in the collaborative & liberated style of quilting – with no pattern of course! I wanted to make stars. Then after getting a number of various sized stars, I decided to add pieced trees. I also threw in some sequined fabric squares : )
As you may notice, I don’t use traditional red & green. Nope. I have a white tree with lime green skirt (with pailettes & sequins no less) and I use hot pink, lime green and bits of aqua, canary yellow & purple. It’s fun and different and that’s what I like. At least for now; this is my second Christmas with the new colors.
I had to order more polka dotted fabric and so the project is stopped as I wait for it to arrive. Shopping on Black Friday in my jammies was wonderful! I would like to make place mats to coordinate with the runner – all similar but different. Doing the same thing 12 times? No thank you. I’ll keep you posted on how it’s all going!
