I have been longing to draw and paint, but I am in a stage of enjoying doodling as well. This piece is a combination of all! I doodled directly onto a piece of thicker muslin then painted with watercolor paints. To get colors to not run together, I was careful to paint places that weren’t touching, let it dry, and ironed it to set the colors. Then when I went back and added more color, nothing ran!
I came up with the words after doodling all the flowers differently. I guess it’s a pretty good statement for me to remember right now. I’m going through that lovely time of life – menopause. Yes, I’m in my mid 40’s. Yes, I’m young for this. Thank heavens I had kids early & they are all in college or older!
Anywhoo…as you can see from the safety pins, it is ready to be quilted. I am heading to the store this morning to get embroidery floss to match some of the colors for the hand embellishing. Don’t really have a clear idea of what I’ll be doing…yet. Ideas welcome!
