As you can see, I have been busy dyeing lately! And playing with soy wax batik. For more on the soy batik, click here.
And then, some days it just all goes right! I had two fabulous pieces of fabric emerge from the first dyeing day. Here is the first – a dark periwinkle with a crumpled look with white “plaid” – where I just brushed on the soy wax.
And my favorite – this folded piece that I set in the dye on one side and the dye color separated and settled into different parts of the folds. It is dark orangey red, coral, yellow, and pink – with one color of dye!
I’m experimenting with other dye colors today to see if any of them separate so nicely.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
