The quilt start above resembles a quilt I have done before, but this is out of just the leftover bits and pieces. I sat down at quilting one afternoon and before I left, this is what I had created.
I wasn’t paying too much attention to details, just going with the flow. Big pieces next to small, dark next to light, busy next to still and so on. I know, there really isn’t much “still” in this piece, but that’s OK with me! This is about how my life felt over the last 3 months anyway!
The past 3 months have been difficult in multiple ways. First the good – I got into 2 galleries for my artwork right before Christmas! Yay! If you are interested in viewing some of my works of art, click here. Then Christmas happened and I settled into a rather significant depression. Not fun. No work on any creative kind got done. Then I realized I had a show to hang February 6 and had no finished pieces left at home! So I scrapped my schedule for 2 weeks and did nothing but sun-up to sun-down work on what became 9 finished pieces. Yay!
So now I am able to think about other creative endeavors that got put off during this time. In fact, I did some really neat things for Valentine’s Day for my family – but I won’t spoil the surprise until Tuesday.
Until next time,
