I was in a finishing mood yesterday. I think I was just tired of looking at some of these things laying around my sewing studio. Ever get that way?
Anywoo, I started with 2 made-fabric blocks that I turned into pot holders because I needed some new ones!
I came across a blog The Free Motion Quilting Project where a clever girl is creating 365 free motion motifs. I was totally inspired!
So I decided to use the pot holder project as a practice for my free motion.
Who cares if it’s a little less than perfect? It will still be useful in the kitchen. The orange one above is my favorite. The blue one below was more difficult than I thought. Getting those concentric circles the same size was very hard with free motion. I can see using a regular foot and just sewing it in circles and being much more even. Oh well, live & learn : )
And lastly, here is a teaser of the baby girl quilt I started a few days ago with princesses, dragons & castles. This is the quilting on the back! I will post the front of the quilt next time.
Happy Sewing today!
