Disappearing 9 patch fits that definition! It looks more difficult than it actually is.
It starts with large squares of 9 sewn together.
In this quilt, there are 9 large squares, each with the dark black & white polka dot square in the center. Each also has a white & black print attached to the dark center, as shown below.
Once sewn, then cut exactly in half each way. If you look, you can see the cut lines above and in the full quilt laid out.
Then the fun begins!
Play with turning blocks…
and every which way!
The options are nearly limitless!
While doing this, I have found new upcoming quilt ideas : )
All from a basic 9 patch!
Once you find the one you want, sew them together and enjoy!
I tend to like quilts that are homogenous rather than ones that are highly contrasting. That is why I really like the disappearing nine patch!
