Ta-da! I made this!
I know many followers of this blog are looking for quilting projects here. This post is a slight diversion and I hope you’ll read on!
I used to make all my clothes, as tall clothing wasn’t as available as it is today. When I was expecting (in the late 80’s & early 90’s) I didn’t know of a source for tall maternity clothing so I sewed my entire wardrobe. It’s as if tall people weren’t supposed to reproduce! Then having all girls, I sewed dresses and such for them for years. But since tall clothing has become more available, sewing hasn’t been a necessity.
Well, enter Project Runway.
Over the last 2 seasons, I have discovered it and gotten hooked.
I got it in my head that I could do what they do. I used to do this; it’s not that hard.
This is Vogue 8714 custom fit jacket.
Plaid – meaning matching in 2 directions.
What was I thinking?!
Finding fabric sources is a little more trial and error since ordering online is the only way to go. This fabric came from Fabric Mart – mid-sized revolving selection with excellent prices!
I am very pleased with the outcome!
So no quilting this week : )
