After making all the squares, I decided the quilt needed some darks. So I went through my stash and found this great magenta velour. That is the fabric I am using between the blocks. I love it! Unconventional? Sure! But to me the idea of a quilt is one where you use scraps – you know, repurposing old into new?! I decided I’d rather use an unconventional quilt material rather than purchase something new.
I now have 2 panels put together and have done some free motion quilting on them. I can’t believe how large this quilt is going to end up being! I am assembling the quilt in the column style described by Nancy Zieman on Sewing with Nancy. It is making a large quilt much more manageable.
