Ok, I’ve been having great fun in my studio this week with color and fiber! Today is one more variation on fabric painting that I’ve played with lately.
I started with screen printing inks and decided I’d like to actually screen print with them. I had some from Pro Chemical, along with my Speedball screen printing inks used in yesterday’s post.
So I pulled out this old decorator sample of sheers. It’s fairly small – about 8″ x 10″ – but that’s fine with me. Remember my trip to the Zero Landfill Nashville event? Here are more goodies salvaged from that!
I cut out one panel and stuck torn painters tape on it. Laying down fabric, then the screen panel, I then loaded paint across the top of the panel and dragged across the screen & tape. This pushed the paint through to the fabric underneath.
Ta-da! Oh the ideas of what can be done with this! I’m sure there will be more to come!
