I have praised the virtue of stretch pants before (see previous post here) and am really enjoying the comfortable break from jeans everyday.
I also have decided I like the “near ankle” length pant because you can wear it with flats AND heels. Its nice to not have to decide where to hem something based on shoe choice.
This pattern is my TNT (tried and true) Burda Magazine 4/2013 #114A Pencil Trousers.
This fabric is quite stretchy and I tried setting the side zipper twice. I ripped it out twice too. I decided then that these would have an elastic waist. I also added front pockets. Yes! Self drafted!
Since I had to add a strip of fabric for the elastic, it’s a little bulky in the waist. Fine as long as the shirt grazes it and doesn’t cling. I have enough fabric left that I’ll probably remake these and just put elastic on the back.
Now that I have a pattern or two for pants that fit well, sewing them is truly easy.
Have you sewn pants lately?
Happy Creating everyone!
