The challenge this month over at The Monthly Stitch is to Sew Stretchy. In other words…KNITS! I needed a new t-shirt so I decided to try the Grainline Studio Scout Woven Tee in a knit.
This is a rayon lycra stripe that was in my stash. It’s a wonderful lightweight knit with a lot of drape. It’s my favorite knit to wear.
Hey, I’m in sync with fashion this summer – stripes are in!
Verdict: I found the Scout Tee in knit form to be loose in the shoulders and a bit trapezey. I understand the loose fit since that is necessary for a woven to go over one’s shoulders and head!

Let me take a selfie… : )
Its hard to see, but you can tell how loose it is around the bust in this pic. It is comfortable though!
If you notice, I also reversed the direction of the stripes on the sleeves. Don’t you like to ask, “what if…” when creating? I sure do.
Also in the top pic, you’ll see I also got 3 pair of panties from my TNT panty pattern. The pattern is Jalie 3242 (view A). It’s been tweaked a bit, but it was pretty encouraging straight away. Soooo easy once you get the fit right. How many people have panties that match their t-shirts?!
This month I have gone on a panty making spree. I have 9 more pair cut out and in process. They are quick projects and great for immediate satisfaction.
All in all, sew stretchy was a great challenge to get me out of the woven rut.
And here’s my little sewing buddy. She likes to lay on the table beside my machine.
Happy Creating everyone!
