If you use a mug rug for iced tea, is it still a mug rug? Probably! Here is one I made for myself trying out some new techniques.
I purchased a booklet called “Fat Quarter Fonts” that comes with funky letters sized for charm squares or fat quarters that you can applique. The neat thing about these is you don’t need fusible web – you just turn your fabrics over, wrong sides down, place the letter and sew through all layers. Then you just cut away the excess fabric. Easy peasy! That’s how I did the “n.”
For the birdie quilting, I used a stencil. I turned the left birdie around because I thought it looked better on such a small item. The backing is the same fabric as the letter n.
Now I have a cute place for my iced tea next to my computer!
