For my girls and husband, I went rummaging through my scrap bag looking for small scraps I could make into sachets. I had fun sewing scraps together and even found some abandoned blocks to work with. On the ones pictured, I did free motion writing for the “I love you” before sewing the 2 pieces together.
These are simple to make! I cut a heart from paper as a pattern. Then laid it over 2 fabrics put right sides together and cut around the paper heart leaving about a 1/2″ selvage. I then sewed around the heart while it was still pinned to the fabrics and left about a 1″ opening on a straight section of the heart.
I stuffed it with fiber fill and a cotton square dripped with essential oil. Since then I have ordered some lavender buds & have them stashed in the closet for the next round of sachets! Then I sewed the hole closed and cut close to the edges with pinking shears. Viola!
