I’ve been giving some thought to modern quilts – those with wide open spaces. Plain fabric between all the lovely patterned ones. Hmmm….
I asked for help with finishing the design and my sweet quilting group wasn’t quite sure what to make of this. They were so gentle in their comments which is a true gift amongst friends. I know that no matter what “odd” thing I may do with piecing a quilt, they will love me and not judge me. I am so blessed!
With their help, I decided on a piano keys border. It looks amazing! Now to plan out the quilting part, since I assured them that would be a key feature of this simple quilt. My sketch pad will go with me out of town to be with my favorite youngest daughter next week. Hubby will get to watch our 6 year old bichon shih-tzu dog, Lucy. We will have college kids coming and going throughout the week, so needless to say, I won’t have anything new this coming week for the blog. Family is first after all.
Here is Lucy one morning when I wanted to quilt and she wanted attention. I of course had to stop quilting and instead play with her right after snapping this picture.
I would love to hear what you modern quilters have to say about quilting on this piece!
