Not many coat fabrics come up that are completely void of wool, to which I have an allergy. Last summer I picked up this wool-free fabric from Fabric Mart for a song and couldn’t wait to sew a coat of some sort out of it.
Then I found Vogue 8776 for this cape.
It’s a neat coat, and quite warm. The only problem is the way the armholes are designed it’s hard to button the coat and use one’s arms!
Also, the fabric is quite thick at the top since it is self lined. And issue for sure, but that’s my fault, not a “design feature.”
Don’t know how often this will get worn, but I wanted to put it on the record of things I’ve sewn.
Until next time…
Happy Creating everyone!
